Reading comprehension as a process of simultaneously extracting and constructing meaning trough interaction and involvement with written language. Statement of problem; (1) How does the teacher make preparation for teaching reading comprehension at Language Program of MAN Tulungagung 2? What are specials materials used by teacher in the teaching English reading comprehension at Language Program of MAN Tulungagung 2?(3) How does the teacher evaluate the teaching of reading comprehension at Language Program of MAN Tulungagung 2? (4) What are the students’ response toward the teaching of reading comprehension?
With thus the purpose of this research are (1) To know the preparation for teaching reading comprehension at Language Program of MAN Tulungagung 2. (2) To know the materials used by the teacher in teaching English reading comprehension of Language Program. (3) To know how the teacher evalutes the English reading comprehension at Language Program of MAN Tulungagung 2. (4) What are the students’ response toward teaching English reading comprehension.
This research design is descriptive with qualitative approach, since it is intended to describe the implementation of teaching English reading comprehension at Language Program of MAN Tulungung 2. The methods of collecting data are documentation, interview, observation and questionnaires. The data analysis technique was using Hubberman theory that covers data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Finally, in order to reduce the research biases and the prejudice the triangulation technique was also used to check the trustworthiness of data.
From the study, it revealed that the implementation of teaching reading comprehension lay on preparation of teaching reading English comprehension, the materials used, the evaluation and the students’ response toward teaching reading comprehension. The student’s feel anthusiasion in study literature.
Based on the result finding above, it can be conclude that the implementation of teaching English reading comprehension at Language Program of MAN Tulungung 2 in studying literary have a good impact. Considering that reading comprehension is important especially in studying literature for the students of Language Program it is suggested that: the school should to give more attention, the teacher should to improve in making preparation for teaching, and for students should to study more to achieve reading comprehension in literary.
