Studying adjective clause is important because Indonesian people oftenuse sentence that contains “yangâ€. It isused to describe or specify something that will be explained, for example “we just met the man who gave you flower yesterdayâ€. In this sentence the connector “who†is used to limit the man.Sometimes students get the difficulties in studying adjective clause. For example they get difficulties in using the relative pronouns, as in the sentence above, the relative pronoun is “whoâ€. Some students is confuse to use “who, which, whom, whose or thatâ€.
The research problems were formulated as follows(1) How is the students’ ability in using adjective clauses? (3) What are the factors that cause the students make errors in using adjective clauses?
The purposes of the research are: (1) To find out the students’ ability in using adjective clauses;(2) To identify the relative pronouns (who, whom, which, that, whose) that has the highest error of frequency made by students in using adjective clauses;(3) To analyze the factors that cause the students make errors in using adjective clauses.

It is used to gather data at a particular point in time with the intention to describe the students’ ability in using adjective clause. The subject of the research is the students of class X F and X G of MAN Rejotangan. The research takes subject randomly. It is only taken 50 students from class X (F and G). The methods of collecting data are test and interview.
